Aki Bingo Exhibition

Born in 1948 in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Graduated from the Japanese Painting Department at Tokyo University of the Arts.
As a researcher in early childhood education, he has developed a wide range of teaching materials, educational tools, and stationery.
In 2008, upon turning 60, he made his debut as a picture book author. His first work, Shita no Dōbutsuen (The Zoo Beneath), won the 14th Japan Picture Book Award.
In 2015, 30,000 Watermelons received the Grand Prize at the 21st Japan Picture Book Award.
